Finally letting some air out by talking about it. I'm not sure if it's always a good thing to talk but I still am glad that things are back to quite the normal state. Not entirely sure about what the future holds, but what can I do? It's not up to me to decide or be involved in the first place. Hopefully God will grant wisdom to lead her way.

Anyway Xmas is nearing! We just got some gifts for everyone for Xmas and we'll have to start writing cards and wrapping already. School holidays have officially started. Sometimes I hope that I had somewhere to go to, but I guess saving up for the final trip will be more worthwhile. So I'm still glad to be here in Edinburgh. Plus I can start a little on my dissertation which is way behind most of my schoolmates, gotta buck up!

For some reason I still feel unsettled but I guess time will erase all these feelings. Hopefully.

Today is Strike day in UK. Many have voted today to strike over proposed government reforms to their pensions. I'm kinda for this strike too but a pity that I won't have a chance to be picketing together with them coz I'm not affected by the policy as an foreigner. I will try to capture some pictures in school but the real thing will be in town. I'm kinda stuck in school because of work. ):

My dissertation has finally kick-started. Its really hard to balance between uni work and traveling. It's kinda like I don't wanna waste my trip down here just to study.. but I also don't wanna deviate too much from the main focus of getting some good grades. And as many would have already known, there is absolute evidence of the direct co-relation of good grades and amount of effort. Gonna start my work like right after this post!

I will soon start to plan my traveling itinerary. First up will be Norway! (:

Poor blog.. I've always neglected it. Blame it on Facebook! Everything is just so user friendly on FB and it doesn't require much writing. The pictures will do the talking most of the time.

However, I will still not leave this space. It has been with me for so long. Even though there may not be anyone who reads this because of my inactivity, I will still try my best to update it (:

These few days have been busy. Busy with school work. The amount of articles I've to read is crazy and the procrastination bug is insanely taking over my whole system! Sighs.. The 30 credits presentation is really a DO or DIE thing. I may just fall into the vicious cycle of the latter.

Anyway, I was at the German Christmas Market last night. Dazzling lights, good food and happy people.

I swear these were the nicest cashew nuts in the whole world (at least in mine)!

Ok.. I shall stop being lazy and officially start blogging. Anyway blogging is also a self-reflection process. (:

Anyways today I finally caught REAL STEEL! It's so good. 4.5/5 stars. It reminded me of how sometimes we forget how to be child-like when we are so caught up with being an "adult". Which now reminds me of the Little Prince. Really liked that story. Each time I read it, there will be something different I get out of it.

So we went to Jimmy Chung chinese buffet after the show. Quite worth the money coz it's like 7.99pounds eat-all-you-can when fish and chips alone can easily cost you like 6pounds here. So I thought it was pretty worth it even though I didn't get to eat much because of the little vegetarian choices (about half of the menu available). No photos though. I wonder why, maybe because everyone was to engrossed in eating. I have to hit the gym tmr from eating too much sweet stuff tonight! I think I really have a MAJOR sweet tooth. Don't really like chocolate sweet but like CARAMEL sweet. So you get how extreme it goes. Chocolate for some reason taste a little bitter to me maybe. LOVE BIKI bakery cupcakes till death I tell you. Those vanilla flavored ones with icing on top are really to die for!

Oh.. I'm thinking of going to Nordkapp in Norway this December to witness the AURORA! It's like a dream from soooooooo long ago to see it with my own eyes. But Norway is such an expensive country.. I need to save up some pennies. Probably I will go alone if i can't find a partner. The idea of traveling along is really exciting and something I wanna try too (:

Like what Steve Jobs said: "Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart." So I think I should come up with my "Bucket List" and follow my heart. I shall start thinking about it now. Will share if I have some ideas. (:

Unbelievably, I ended school life yesterday. The conference was a a success and it ended with a happy note. Maybe it's because the whole week of staying from 9am-12am (yes 12am!) in school, I feel kinda "kong xu" (empty) now. Haha! Last block of 7 weeks of clinicals and off I go, officially graduate from NYP. Some unis got back to me but still require my final transcript. Keeping my fingers crossed, I look forward to this last lap. I'm starting to miss the cohort already. ): But I guess it is just part of how we are at the "becoming" stage now of "Doing, Being, Becoming". Another chapter of my life has now (not-officially) closed.

Hi there, sorry for not upload the pictures earlier. I'm just too lazy to plug my Omnia II into my ever-so-slow windows desktop (Unfortunately, my Mac desktop I'm using now is not compatible).

Anyways, just some reflections I had after reading a long and difficult to understand (sorry, I didn't last till the end) blog entry from someone supposedly close apparently not.

I came to appreciate my life. Simple it may be, but I get to joke around, act silly at times and enjoy all the company of my silly friends. Do what a normal girl would do- enjoy (cheap) shopping, getting all ecstatic when a new blogshop collection is launched and of course gossiping (: while you may be making all the sensible (aka superficial) conversations with "high class" people, writing amazing poems with the view of Oxford's garden, eating your steamed Alaskan Salmon (lightly salted some more). Seriously, you may think your life is really great but tell you what, you are damn wrong if you think everyone yearns to have your life. You can talk so much about life, about all the sensible stuff but have you once thanked your grandmother who never failed to cook your favourite shark's fin soup when you visit her like twice a year?

What an irony.

Sorry I just needed to rant.

I'm halfway through this book and as usual hooked onto it. I realize I don't read a lot but when I am, I go all for it like "sucked" into the book. Which is quite bad now coz I've a million other important stuff to complete. But I still love it (:

My 2nd Lexus ride yesterday (: It was jon's. I was the only one who was so excited to ride on the Lexus. Haha! The rest took uncle's (our fyp car on the right) But in the end jon and I were stuck in the jam. So doesn't mean having a good car in sg will bring you to your destination faster!

On a side note, I'm not sure if sometimes I am a little oversensitive. But it just didn't feel the same.

The Farmer's Watch

A short story given by my sup stuck on the walls of my study desk for all of you (: Here goes...

There was once a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the barn. It was no ordinary watch because it had sentimental value for him.

After searching high and low among the hay for a long while, he gave up and enlisted the help of a group of kids playing outside the barn. He promised them that the person who found it would be rewarded five dollars.

Hearing this, the group of kids hurried inside the barn, flipped thorough and around the entire stack of ha but still could not find the watch.

Just when the farmer was about to give up looking for the watch, a little boy went up to him and asked to be given another chance. The farmer looked at him and thought, " Why not? After all, the kid looks sincere enough." So the farmer sent the little boy back in the barn.

After a while the little boy came out with the watch in his hand! The farmer was both happy and surprised and so he asked the boy how he succeeded where the rest had failed.

The boy replied, " I did nothing but sit on the ground and listen. In the silence, I heard the ticking of the watch and just looked for it in that direction."

Very often, we allow the noise of the world to drown out our inner voices, our intuition, and the language of our hearts. Via a dizzying array of flashy commercials, glossy images of the rich and famous, and confident strides of the beautiful and thin, the world tells us repeatedly how being ourselves isn't acceptable or sufficient. It reminds us how we will be happy only when our bodies look a certain way, when we are wealthy, successful, respected, or famous, when we marry a particular person, or when we own a certain car or phone.

As a result, we often emulate others, without trusting and loving ourselves enough to make our own decisions. We rush blindly towards false and fanciful goals like money, a desirable partner who doesn't truly love us, the favorable opinion of others, fame or material possessions. These ultimately do not give us lasting happiness or meaning.

Finally, we come to realize that, in life, we should learn to distance ourselves from the din of the world and quieten ourselves down. To learn to listen to our inner voice, for it will point us in the right direction to find true joy, love and peace. (:

HELLO THERE! Serious lack of UPDATES!

Life has been great since the past month. Lots of learning during clinicals. Met new people, learned new things and discovered myself more (:
I'm currently enjoying this wonderful 3 weeks of holidays like never before, finding fun time amidst the busy busy FYP stuff to do.

This was what I did during the first week of holidays (: Went on a short day trip at JB with tin. We visited the Zoo, yes the JB ZOO and did some k-singing at Zon shopping mall. It was really a whole new different experience in JB. Haha! We witnessed some animal porn in the Zoo. LOL!

Part 2 of JB: I went there again today but the main motive was to SHOP SHOP SHOP till we drop! (: My really good buys! Everything for below SGD50! WHeeeeee! (: (:
And we had our fav Salad You Char Kway that we never failed to miss (:

Oh and I also went Bintan last week for a short getaway. Expensive but fun (: Esp with the company I had (:

It is indeed a joy to deal with children everyday :) the kids at my place are so adorable! And they are really unbelievably crazy rich. One had a PONY a during his birthday party! YES a real life PONY, at his backyard! I only see a pony in the zoo! Haha :)

If you are feeling kinda rich recently and wanna try some atas brekkie.. you can drop by @ Wild Honey. The food was so-so but the ambience I would say it's 5 out of 5 (even better if there wasn't a crowd) . Saturday queues are really crazy (waiting up to 1.5hrs) so I would advice to go during weekdays. One breakfast set usual cost between $18-25 excluding the service charges.

I'm proud to say I'm quite a fan of such sg production movies. Caught 老牛与嫩草 with mom and dad last saturday and I must say it's really nice! Hahaha.. even thou' they are not as wow as hollywood films or disneyland pictures, it's just so close to the hearts of the community. It's a funny show but at the same time so rich in moral values that we should all ponder upon. Catch it if you can! Plus the female lead in the show is very pretty! (:

I'm currently cozily situated at a corner in starbucks @ SSC. Love the ol' fashioned glazed donuts. Took a picture of it but couldn't upload here coz my lappy's bluetooth has gone crazy. It is reaaaallly LOVE (: the glaze reminds me of krispy kremes! *drool!* And as usual, I have caramel frappe with extra caramel drizzle with me. The staff was REALLY generous. Gave me so much that it overflowed! I think I'm the only freak in the world who like sweet stuff but not chocolate. I just don't have a thing for chocolate. I'm the vanilla and strawberry kind, even better if it's CARAMEL (: And I HATE dark chocolates coz they are not sweet (crazy BITTER in fact) at all! I don't see the point of eating chocolates that are not sweet.

I wonder what tin is doing in HK now. Must be enjoyin' herself and practicing her canto like siao. Haha! I'm gonna start a new tuition tonight. Pray that he's the "guai" kind.

Btw I officially have oriental hair now. It's so black that I'm so not used to seeing myself in the mirror. It was supposed to be cherry black but I don't know why it turned out to be jetblack. I shall aim to be like Zhang Ziyi. Jetblack and long hair is now my goal for the rest of the year.

Last Sunday was well spent with my beloved friends (:

Went Azura in the morning to celebrate asl's 21st birthday under the scorching sun in Sentosa (Hence my badly chaotar-ed skin now). But its really a great place to chill and bask under the sun's love. I simply love the environment and the whole setting in Azura. You will know when I post some pictures soon (when asl uploaded them). They even have jacuzzi with super thick and high foam in it. It was mad relaxing. (:

Chiong-ed down to pong's convocation at NUS in the afternoon. It was suuuppperr packed but we did manage to have a corner to ourselves (: Spotted Arron, my photographer friend and he offered to take photos for us. He even gave us free photos (: Yay! And congrats to pong for your graduation! As you say, it's "tuo li ku hai" Haha!

Btw some would know that I've been having a very perplexing varicose vein (very ugly) lookalike thing on my left calf and it increases in size and length when I exercise. Have been scouting for compression stockings to solve this but all those in the market are either too medical looking or too expensive. And one fine day on the MRT, I chanced upon an advert on the train about this Scholl compression stockings. It says gradual compression stockings for sleeping and FOR INSTANTLY LIGHTER & SLIMMER LOOKING LEGS THE NEXT DAY. Sounds promising right! Not that the main reason was the slimming part but it's definitely a plus point. Haha! So I decided to give it a try and searched high and low (not really coz i only tried 1 guardian and 1 watson store). Found it at last in the Watson store. Guardian stores don't carry them. They cost $40ish. Can rem exactly but it's still cheap cos the medical kind costs around 60 plus!

And the best part is that it comes in a preetty shade of purple with pink rims at both ends! (:

Haha! Those are my trotters trying them on. Hopefully it works!

I feel so inferior ): I think it's because of the ocean-wide disparity between me and the others that made me feel so. The stress is much more and different from that of not doing well in a paper. Doing a paper is solitary. Die means you die alone. I think only I understand myself.

Plus I think I'm not regulating my emotions well these few weeks. Maybe it's time I give myself a break from everything. Performance anxiety taking toll.

Well, I had mine! But not with a hot secret agent and her not very handsome hubby.

I'm back from HK! I think I did enjoy myself quite abit there and don't really feel like coming back! Coz I know coming back = chiong projects! Sigh. Anyways, I will only upload my hk pics when I find time to sit down and transfer them to the computer. My next few days will be jam packed.

Yesterday was Lalee's royal 21st bday party. It was mad crowded coz she invited so many guests (80 over)! We (I only peeled the diamond stickers thou') "Zeng-ed" her polariod camera and it was so preeeeeetty! (: Didn't manage to stay till the cake cutting part coz had to celebrate kwek's bday @ substation thereafter. Btw I think I'm allergic to some content in mojito. Had it at substation and felt really uncomfortable right after the drink. It felt like some airway obstruction and I had to breathe really hard. Scary!

HongKong is confirmed. It's gonna be a short shopping shopping shopping trip! Hope I really can get good bargains there. And Lydia, I think krabi will be the next one instead coz it's mad cheap in september! (:

Oh.. the arts festival is here and I so feel like immersing myself into the artsy kinda stuff. Anyone wants to visit the museum or anything can just let me know!

Shall not comment to much! =X Slacking at home now. Lessons start only at 1pm. Starting to dread school very very much coz of all the project meetings. It's really draining. Can't wait can't wait for the 2 weeks break! I need a vacation. Dad wants to go HongKong but we have yet to confirm anything. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. It has been a busy week and thus the lack of updates. School has been tiring not from lessons but from project meetings.
